Diagenic Blood Test

The Norwegian company Diagenic ASA, has developed a blood test that can identify the early signs of breast cancer by looking at genetic activity in your blood. The presence of certain active genes indicates that the body is responding to an early breast cancer forming.

The test may be of particular benefit to younger women in whom mammography can be less accurate.

We are expecting the test to be available in the private sector in mid to late 2008 once all regulatory bodies have passed the test.
