CupPrint®

Although the term ‘cancer’ is commonly used, it actually refers to a number of different types of malignant disease depending on where it originated on the body. Sometimes cancer cells originating from one part of the body can spread to form a new tumour somewhere else. This is called a secondary or metastatic tumour. Although the cells in the secondary are like those in the original tumour, conventional techniques have difficulty in accurately identifying the source of the original cells. People in these situations are diagnosed with Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP).

As different cancer types require different treatment, it is very important to identify the cancer cell type to most effectively treat the cancer.

The CupPrint® test can quickly and reliably identify the source of the cancer cells, allowing your doctor to choose the most effective treatment plan for your cancer.  Results are available 10 working days after sample receipt.

Opaldia would be happy to discuss the CupPrint® test with your doctor. For more information, please contact an Opaldia team member on 020 7554 4052.
